Hyundai is all set to launch the all new Eon in India soon. The new Eon from Hyundai is expected to have better fuel economy, competitive prize, and spacious enough to take your entire family on a road trip. The demand for small car with low price is very high in India and thus Hyundai’s decision to launch Eon seems to be very apt. Hyundai is the second largest car maker in the automobile industry and with its new Eon on market, it is expected to give a tough competition to Maruti Suzuki’s Alto which is presently the market leader in small car segment in India. Hyundai Eon is expected to launch in October 2011 in India with a price between Rs 2.50 lakh to Rs 3.50 lakh. Hyundai Eon Specification The new Hyundai Eon will be powered by a three cylinder 800 cc engine that is expected to deliver a mileage of 21.1 km/liter. The length of the car would be 3.5 meter, width 75 mm, and height 40 mm. It gives extra features such as driver air bags, front power windows, keyless entry, fog lamps, two-tone interiors, and central locking which are not available in all other small cars. The Hyundai engineers have worked hard to give Eon a stylish portfolio. The car is designed on Hyundai’s latest Fluidic design with superiorly built interiors. Lower price with fuel efficiency is going to be the Eon’s USP. Hyundai Eon India will be available in three trims base, GL, and GLS. The Hyundai base will be basic model with no power windows, air conditioner, power steering, and central locking. The top variant of Hyundai Eon will include all features like power windows, power steering, air conditioner, and central locking plus remote levers for boot and fuel lid. It is expected that the top variant will have music system, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), and driver side airbag and also expected to feature front fog lamps, rear spoiler, and designer wheel covers. The Hyundai Eon GLS will feature chrome finish front grill and tail-lamps which gives stylish look to the car. The Hyundai Eon will be available in five different shades such as Red, Silver, White, Grey, and Black. The price of Hyundai Eon base will be Rs. 2, 50,000 while Hyundai Eon GL will be around Rs. 3, 00,000 and Hyundai Eon GLS will be Rs. 3, 50,000. Eon is Hyundai’s most ambitious project till date catering to the segment, which is the largest in the Indian market and carries tremendous potential for volume growth and will be made exclusively in India only for all global markets. The new car will be pitted directly against Maruti Alto that sold over three-lakh units in 2010 to became world’s largest sold single car brand. “Eon is the best bet for Hyundai to increase sales after relatively sound success of its smaller cars like Santro,” said a Mumbai-based auto analyst.
